Detailed Itinerary of Unusual 9 Days Safari Tanzania

Day 1: Arusha

We shall pick you from your hotel room in Arusha and drive to Arusha National park officially marking the beginning of our safari.

We will take a guided walk through the Park and some of the animals that we will see include impalas, cheetahs, baboons, warthogs, giraffes, lions and buffalos among others.

The Park has a large concentration of wildlife between July and October making it the best time for one to take a guided walk here. Remember to follow all the rules and regulations put up by the guide in order to avoid being attacked by the animals.

We shall then have our packed lunch at the chosen picnic site before driving to the Mto Wa Mbu where we shall spend the night at a campsite. Dinner will be served and the tents will be put up by the chef.

Day 2: Mto Wa Mbu to Lake Natron

We will have breakfast at the campsite and then drive to Lake Natron. This alkaline lake is home to thousands of lesser pink flamingos which can be seen as you drive along the shores of the Lake.

They create a flurry pink cloud making good scenery for tourists who love taking photos. The Lake is next to the Oldoinyo Mountain and as you drive around you will be able to see many salt marshes and unique flora.

Enjoy the beautiful scenery of the sunset in the evening before camping out for the night. All meals will be provided from breakfast, lunch to dinner.

Day 3: Lake Natron to Serengeti National Park

We will leave for Serengeti National Park after breakfast at the camp. We will drive through the Serengeti Park which is best known for the annual wildebeest migration which happens to take place between July and October.

We will however first settle with the Seronera which is the central part of the park and this is where the campsite will be set up for the night. Dinner will be prepared by the chef as you enjoy the sunset and served around a campfire.

Day 4&5: Serengeti National Park

Day 4 and 5 will be spent exploring the vast plains of Serengeti National Park during the game drive. On day 4 after breakfast, we will take a guided walk to the Masai village where we will spend the whole day with the locals engaging in their day-to-day activities. We will help with the cooking, learn how to track down animals when it comes to hunting, engage in local games, join in the traditional singing and dancing.

We shall also have lunch with the Masai and after asking for permission from the local chief, photos will be taken so as to keep the memories. We retire for the evening at the Seronera camp as we enjoy dinner around a campfire.

After breakfast, we shall begin our journey around the Serengeti National Park. The park has quite a large herd of animals that are seen along the Seronera River during the dry season and some of these include zebras, antelopes, wildebeests, buffalos, hyenas, giraffes, elephants, hippos, lions, leopards, cheetahs, and many more other animals.

The annual wildebeest migration starts in Serengeti and flows into the Masai Mara in neighboring Kenya around October although the time might change due to weather changes. Day 5 will be our last day in Serengeti and we shall have dinner at the campsite around a campfire before retiring for the night.

Day 6: Serengeti to Ngorongoro crater

This is the day when all those who booked for extra activities especially the hot air balloon ride get to enjoy this activity. You must be awake by 5:00 am for the ride and it will end roughly around 7:30.

Thereafter breakfast will be served and after packing lunch, we shall take a morning drive through Serengeti before we drive to Ngorongoro crater. Before we get to Ngorongoro, we make a stopover to get a real good look at the Great Rift Valley.

We shall have our lunch here and then drive to the Ngorongoro conservation area in the afternoon to the campsite to rest as we prepare for the next day. Dinner will be served early and you will get to see some of the wildlife as you enjoy the sunset.

Day 7: Ngorongoro crater

After breakfast, we will descend into the crater to find ourselves the wild animals and birds that live within it. The animals that you should look out for while in the crater include zebras, elephants, elands, lions, antelopes, buffalos, hippos, spotted hyenas and waterbucks among others.

It is also a home to over 400 bird species and these are best seen during the rainy season (November to April). We will get a clear view of the crater rim and then have lunch near the hippo pool and continue with the afternoon game drive till evening.

The campsite will be ready with a hot dinner by the time you get back.

Day 8: Ngorongoro crater to Lake Manyara National Park

We leave for Lake Manyara very early in the morning after breakfast. Once we get to the Park, the first thing that you should look out for are the tree climbing lions and other animals like buffalos, hippos, antelopes, cheetahs, elephants to mention but a few.

Lake Manyara is also a home to over 400 birds and during the rainy season, these are joined by the migratory birds. All meals will be provided and the night will be spent camping out in a secure part of the Park.
