Wildebeest Mara River Crossing. The Ultimate Travel Guide
The Great Wildebeest Mara River Crossing Itinerary, When/Where
The Ultimate 4 days Wildebeest Mara River Crossing Itinerary takes to see the great Wildebeest Migration of herds along the banks of the Mara River, take a flight into the northern Serengeti or travel there by car. In the months of July through October, when the Great Migration moves northward toward the Masai Mara Game Reserve before crossing the crocodile-infested Mara River, it can be easily observed in the northern portion of the Serengeti in the Lobo area.
The Great Wildebeest Migration is remarkable. Annually, around 1.5 million wildebeest migrate from the Serengeti to the Masai Mara and return, seeking fresh pastures. Their traversal of the Mara River represents the pinnacle of their journey, a dramatic sight replete with peril and effort, and stands as one of Kenya’s premier safari experiences.
