Detailed Pemba Island Endemics Birding Tour Itinerary

Day 1: Travel To Pemba Island

After arriving in Pemba, your journey to Chake Chake, the starting point of your Pemba Island Endemics Birding Tour, will begin.

Pemba, in southern Tanzania, is a picturesque island that is far less crowded than Zanzibar’s sister island, Unguja.

We will begin our birding expedition outside the airport and travel through nearby farms, bushland, and wayside trees. We will proceed to the northern region of Pemba Island in order to continue our birdwatching.

We want to visit a Pemba Scops-Owl site in the evening.

Night in Pemba.

Day 2: Birding Pemba Island

We can go birding at Ngezi Forest, which is home to the endangered Pemba Flying Fox. The Pemba Green Pigeon, a rare and endangered bird that is a highlight of our Pemba Island Endemics Birding Tour, is our primary focus here.

We will also go birding on the island’s beautiful beaches and clove fields. The Pemba Sunbird and the Pemba White-eye are two more indigenous species that we are eagerly anticipating seeing in Tanzania.

In case we didn’t manage to catch the Pemba Scops-Owl before, we have another opportunity to do so this evening.

Night in Pemba.

Day 3: Morning Birding On Pemba Island; Afternoon Departure

You can kick back and relax with a hotel breakfast on this particular day. Post that, we’ll take in some more avian splendor around Pemba Island.

Our fascinating Pemba Island Endemics Birding Tour will come to a close when you depart, via the Pemba airport, and connect with your international aircraft home.
