Wonderful birding trip to southwest Uganda

I recently went on a wonderful birding trip to the south west part of Uganda with Kabira Travel.
I was met at Entebbe Airport by Herman, my guide and Sharon, the manager.
Herman and I travelled from Entebbe to Mabamba swamp, Lake Mburu, Mgahinga, then three locations in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest before returning to Entebbe via Mpinga Forest.
The birding was incredible with over 270 species seen including several of the Albertine Rift Endemics and many lifers.
I was so privileged to have Herman as a guide. I was constantly amazed at his skill at identifying forest birds from their calls, and was in awe at his knowledge of all the birds at all the habitats we visited. Not only is he an excellent guide, he was also wonderful company for our 9 days on the road.
The tour was expertly arranged by Sharon in head office who came to meet me in Entebbe and also very kindly came to Entebbe to see me off.

Starting from initial communication about itinerary, pricing, to being flexible with dates, to providing a customized experience that fit my needs and communicating all the necessary information. My assigned guide Arshley Brian was an extremely knowledgeable birder and keen naturalist and a very welcoming person, happy to share his knowledge, and I learned quite a bit from his knowledge of birds, mammals, plants, the landscape and Ugandan culture. The variety and number of species we encountered on my relatively short trip was at least double what I had expected because of his knowledge and excellent eye. Each of these destinations produced a unique, different and endemic species while other species were common in every destination as they tend to crosscut habit.
