A Detailed Wildlife And Great Apes Conservation Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival and Entebbe
Upon arrival, your tour guide will greet you and escort you to one of the proximate hotels: Lake Height Hotel, Lake Victoria, Palm Beach Hotel, or 2 Friends Hotel, all conveniently situated close Entebbe International Airport. Experience a restful overnight accommodation.
Day 2: Lake Mburo National Park
Following breakfast, we shall commence a picturesque journey through Uganda’s undulating green hills to Lake Mburo National Park (3-4 hours). This park provides exceptional birdwatching opportunities, serving as a sanctuary for enthusiasts to observe the African finfoot and papyrus bush shrike. It is an extension of the Tanzanian plains, teeming with zebras, impalas, elands, and several other animals. We will eat lunch, unwind, then embark on an afternoon boat excursion to observe crocodiles, hippos, vibrant kingfishers, fish eagles, shoebills, and further wildlife. Proceed to your lodge for dinner and an overnight accommodation at Rwakobo Rock Lodge, Mantana Lake Mburo Tented Camp, or Eagles Nest Camp.
Day 3: Zebra Experience and Transfer to Bwindi
Experience a morning safari to observe zebras, impalas, elands, and further wildlife. Post-lunch, we shall traverse the picturesque Kigezi highlands and the terraced hills inhabited by the Bakiga and Bafumbira peoples en route to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park, the habitat of gorillas. Experience relaxing, dining, and an overnight accommodation at Gorilla Mist Camp.
Day 4: Gorilla Tracking in Bwindi
Following an early breakfast and briefing, we will go on an exhilarating mountain gorilla tracking expedition within the forest reserve. This program commences at 8:00 am, providing an opportunity to engage with these remarkable monkeys for around one hour. Subsequently, return to the lodge and proceed to Lake Bunyonyi for dinner and an overnight accommodation at Lake Bunyonyi Eco-Resort.
Day 5: Lake Bunyonyi
In the morning, traverse the Bushara route along to the lakeshore. Partake in a canoe excursion with locals, appreciate avian melodies, and then return for dinner, leisure, and an overnight accommodation at Lake Bunyonyi Eco-Resort.
Day 6: Queen Elizabeth National Park
Travel from Lake Bunyonyi to Queen Elizabeth National Park, appreciating breathtaking scenery and wildlife en route. Day 7: Game Drive – Queen Elizabeth National Park
