A Detailed 9-Day Tanzania Family Adventure

Day 1-2: Experience Tarangire’s Biodiversity at Oliver’s Camp

After we welcome you to Tanzania, you will be driven by a private driver-guide to Tarangire National Park. With a diverse landscape that includes granite peaks, river valleys, baobab trees scattered throughout the savannah, and the wildlife-rich Silale swamp close to Oliver’s Camp, this stunning park is home to Tanzania’s highest concentration of elephants and more than 500 bird species. Take part in thrilling walking safaris and game drives to see the smaller animals and discover how to follow them. Alternatively, go on an exhilarating night drive to see rare nocturnal species or soar through the skies in a hot-air balloon at dawn.

Founded in 1992 by safari veteran Paul Oliver, Oliver’s Camp is one of the pioneering properties in the Asilia group. We have established a warm and inviting base for visiting this lovely park throughout the years.

There are 15 tents at Oliver’s Camp, distributed between two wings of five and ten, respectively. With views of the Tarangire River’s floodplains, each wing features a dining area and lounge. With indoor and outdoor showers, flushing toilets, and private bathrooms, the tents are roomy and cosy. From your own deck, you can unwind and take in the expansive views and tranquilly of the bush. The swimming pool provides a welcoming area for a cool dip when not out on game drives.

Day 3-5: Explore Ngorongoro’s Wonders from The Highlands

Following a delectable breakfast amid the sounds of the forest in the early morning, you will be driven up the Rift Valley Escarpment to The Highlands in the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, stopping along the way to enjoy a view of the crater.

Eight distinctive Perspex and canvas geodesic domed rooms with stunning views of the Serengeti and far-off volcanic mountains are encircled by luxuriant flora at an elevation of nearly 8,000 feet. Every suite features an en suite bathroom with hot running water, showers and flushing toilets, as well as a fireplace to keep you warm during the chilly evenings.
