A Detailed 10-Day Kenya, Tanzania & Zanzibar Itinerary

Day 1: Drive to Masai Mara National Reserve, Game Drive

You will be welcomed to your safari by your guide, who will collect you from your Nairobi accommodation. During your trip, you will also receive a briefing. Your journey to the Masai Mara National Reserve in southwestern Kenya will continue as you make your way to your lodge.

In the evening, after lunch at the lodge, you will go on a game drive around the Masai Mara national reserve, where you can see a variety of animals, including zebras, lions, leopards, elephants, rhinos, buffalo, gazelles, giraffes, wildebeests, and leopards. Mara Sopa Lodge is where you’ll have dinner and spend the night, and your guide will take you there.

Day 2: Full day in Masai Mara National Reserve

Your morning game drive will take place after breakfast at your lodge, and you’ll explore the savannah plains in search of wildlife species while taking in the breathtaking scenery of the Masai Mara national reserve. Following your game drive in the reserve, you will enjoy lunch.

On your next game drive, you’ll explore the Masai Mara national reserve in pursuit of a variety of animals, including zebras, hippos, antelopes, giraffes, and cheetahs. As mentioned before, after the wildlife drive, your guide will transport you to your lodge where you may enjoy dinner and spend the night.

Day 3: Transfer to Serengeti National Park, Game Drive

Before your transfer to Serengeti National Park via the Isebania border, you will have breakfast at your resort in the Masai Mara National Reserve. Upon arrival in Tanzania, your guide will meet you at the airport. From there, you will travel to Serengeti National Park, where you can see wildlife on your way to your lodge, stopping for lunch along the way.

Arrive at the camp, unwind as you eat dinner, and spend the night at the Serengeti Safari Lodge.

Day 4: Full day in Serengeti National Park

In the morning, once you’ve had breakfast at your Serengeti lodge, your guide will come and collect you. Embark on a morning game drive over the expansive savannah plains of the national park, where you can spot a wide variety of animals, including gazelles, lions, leopards, cheetahs, zebras, kudu, giraffes, and antelopes. Your lodge meal will follow your morning game drive.

Following lunch, you will go on an additional wildlife drive within Serengeti National Park. After that, you will have dinner and spend the night at your lodge, following the same pattern as before.

Day 5: Ngorongoro crater Drive

Following breakfast at your Serengeti lodge, your guide will take you on a safari to Ngorongoro. After descending around 600 meters into the crater, you will get the opportunity to tour the Ngorongoro crater and go on a wildlife drive along its floor. Elephants, lions, leopards, rhinos, antelopes, buffalo, wildebeests, cheetahs, and hyenas are just a few of the animals you might see on a game drive.

After you’ve had your fill of this adventure, head back to the Hhando Coffee Lodge for dinner and the night.

Day 6: Drive to Arusha, Flight to Zanzibar

The day will start with an early breakfast, followed by a journey to Arusha, where you should arrive just in time for your scheduled departure to Zanzibar. You will be welcomed upon arrival in Zanzibar. After a quick lunch, you will have the opportunity to explore the charming stone town. Get to the Nungwi Dreams by Mantis hotel, check in and unwind before dinner and the night ahead.

Day 7: Prison Island, Spice Tour and Stone Town

Before beginning your day’s activities, you will have breakfast at your hotel.
As you learn about the rich cultural history of Zanzibar, you will have the opportunity to explore the winding streets of Stone Town and learn about its past. From Stone Town, you’ll have a private boat ride to Changuu or Prison Island, where you can observe giant tortoises up close and go snorkelling as part of your island tour. From Changuu Island, you can return to Stone town via boat.

Along with seeing the plantations, you will also go on a spice tour that day. You will learn about the many uses for spices including cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, and a host of others. Returning to your hotel for a night of relaxation follows the spice tour.
