A Detailed 4 Days Akagera Wildlife, Balloon And Community Visit
Day 1: Arrival at the airport in Kigali and transfer to Akagera National Park
Your driver/guide will be waiting at the airport to pick you up and give you a quick rundown on the safari. In this pre-safari briefing, we will go over the rules of conduct for your four-day safari in Akagera National Park. After the briefing, you will be driven to Akagera National Park, which is home to the big five.
Before your first activity the next day, make sure you check into the lodge you booked early for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 2: Morning Game Drive And Afternoon Boat Cruise on Lake Ihema
After a lovely breakfast at the lodge, set out on a morning game drive in the stunning national park to see a variety of species, including the big five—lions, elephants, rhinos, leopards, and buffalo—grazing in their natural habitat. Go back to your hotel to eat lunch.
It is common practice to go on a boat tour around Lake Ihema after lunch. Embark on a boat ride around the lake and you might just see some of the various types of water birds, as well as crocodiles, frogs, snakes, and hippos. Go back to your lodge and have supper there.
Day 3: Hot Air Balloon Ride And Community Tour
Hot air balloon rides, which often begin in the park at 5 a.m. and last between one and two hours, are another exciting activity that you may partake in after breakfast at the lodge.
Relax on this tranquil flight while taking in breathtaking sights of the park, including sunrises, buffalo, elephants, and more. After you touch down, your driver/guide will take you to the lodge where you can have lunch.
Visit the Iby’iwachu cultural village as part of the evening’s community tour; there, you’ll learn all about the political, social, and economic history of the Rwandan people, as well as their beliefs, music, dance, and drama. Return to the lodge in time for supper after purchasing some mementos here.
Day 4: Fly back home
After breakfast at the lodge, you will depart from Akagera National Park and make your way to Kigali city. Upon arrival, you will be taken to your hotel or driven to the airport in Kigali, where you may catch a flight back home.
