A Detailed 10 Days Kenya Itinerary

Day 1: A Taste of Safari | 1 Nights

Hello, welcome Kenya! Your 10 Days Kenya Itinerary commences with your pickup and subsequent transfer to your overnight accommodation, located approximately 30 minutes from Jomo Kenyatta International Airport. Your layover this evening is at Nairobi Tented Camp. The inaugural upmarket camp in the region is situated in the centre of Nairobi National Park, serving as an ideal precursor to prepare you for ten days of safari adventures. Engage in your initial game drive of the journey or immerse yourself in nature and relish the experience of being in the African wilderness.

Days 2-3: Visit a Maasai Village | 2 Nights

Rise to the sounds of nature and savour an early breakfast before departing for Wilson Airport, where a 40-minute flight will transport you to the Selenkay/Amboseli airstrip. Your safari commences early with a game drive en route to Porini Amboseli Camp. Located within the exclusive Selenkay Conservancy, Porini Amboseli is a compact and intimate camp that provides traditional accommodations—envision canvas tented rooms, bucket showers, and lanterns as the primary source of illumination at night.

You will not be allocating much time to your room, however. The reserve offers numerous activities, such as observing the big cats, savouring sundowners with Kilimanjaro as a backdrop, visiting the adjacent Maasai town, and participating in day and night wildlife drives. You will get the option to partake in game drives across Amboseli National Park, savouring exquisite picnic lunches while observing the distant wildlife.

Days 4-5: Explore the Ol Pejeta Conservancy | 2 Nights

Your final breakfast before your departure from Amboseli for a journey to Wilson Airport. A one-hour flight transports you to Nanyuki airfield, from where you will be conveyed to the environmentally sustainable Porini Rhino Camp, located at the base of the Laikipia Plateau within the Ol Pejeta Conservancy.

During your stay at Rhino Camp, you will experience exceptional wildlife observation in the reserve, particularly seeking the Big Five: lion, leopard, elephant, rhino, and buffalo. Ensure you capitalise on all the distinctive activities available between game drives. Visit the chimpanzee sanctuary to greet the rescued primates, participate in an optional lion tracking expedition, and engage in a horseback ride through the wilderness or beside rhinoceroses. A visit to the Endangered Species Boma to observe the only two surviving Northern white rhinos is an unmissable opportunity; also, you will get the chance to hand-feed Baraka, a blind black rhino.

Days 6-7: Kenya’s ‘Complete Wilderness’ | 2 Nights

Conclude your visit to Ol Pejeta with a final game drive in the conservancy prior to boarding your chartered flight to Meru National Park. Rhino River Camp is the idyllic retreat you will inhabit for the next two nights. Rhino River Camp, more refined than your prior accommodations, is the perfect location to rejuvenate following five days of safari excursions.

Allocate time to recalibrate by refreshing in the swimming pool or relaxing with a professional massage upon your arrival. Subsequently, embark on an exploration of the expansive, uncharted nature of Meru National Park. Meru is endearingly referred to as Kenya’s ‘complete wilderness’ owing to its substantial populations of elephants, hippos, buffalo, lions, cheetahs, leopards, and numerous other quintessential African mammal species.

Additionally, the park features a Rhino Sanctuary, dedicated to the conservation and augmentation of the rhino population. There are 40 white rhinos and 20 black rhinos freely inhabiting the area. In between wildlife drives, traverse your surroundings on foot by embarking on a nature walk to the adjacent farms, villages, and countryside. Alternatively, ascend a diminutive extinct volcano to uncover the concealed vegetation within.

Days 8-9: Search for Elusive Ol Kinyei Leopards | 2 Nights

The final segment of your expedition occurs in the renowned Masai Mara. You reach your ultimate destination, the acclaimed Porini Mara Camp, precisely in time for lunch. Situated within the Ol Kinyei reserve, you may choose to repose in your tented accommodation or unwind beneath the shade of acacia trees prior to a wildlife drive across the reserve. Sundowners in a picturesque location precede a nocturnal drive, during which spotlights facilitate the search for secretive nighttime fauna, such as the conservancy’s resident leopards.

The Masai Mara is one of Africa’s premier safari locales, renowned for its exceptional animal observations. The region is home to more than 95 animal species and over 570 documented bird species, in addition to hosting the yearly Great Wildebeest Migration—one of nature’s most remarkable phenomena. Game drives through the Mara are quite spectacular. To elevate this enchanting experience, you can embark on a hot-air balloon ride over the reserve, gently gliding over the expansive terrain while the animals below remains undisturbed and oblivious to your presence.

Day 10: Bid Farewell to Kenya

A final game drive through the Ol Kinyei Conservancy follows your last breakfast in Kenya. The departure is sad as you board a 75-minute mid-morning flight to Nairobi’s Wilson Airport. You will be efficiently transported to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for your departure flight.
