The Ultimate Wildlife Experience

Located in Tanzania’s remote Siha area on Mount Kilimanjaro, this wildlife refuge and luxury ecotourism resort provides an unforgettable and private getaway. Our villas, which are 1100 sqft (110 m2) in size, offer breathtaking views of Mount Meru and Kilimanjaro. Our rescued creatures can relax on the paver patios of each home. Direct revegetation of our hand-planted unique flora is essential to the survival of our animal inhabitants and our meticulously managed ecosystem. Regularly planting between two hundred and five hundred trees per month.

Ethical Wildlife Encounters

In accordance with the requirements of our animals, we are preparing 50 acres of our more than 1,000-acre refuge at a time. With the help of TAWA and TAWIRI, animals are ethically rescued from zoos and injured animals from the wild, and then taught natural behaviours in preparation for their eventual release back into the wild. The Tanzanian government owns the animals that live in our refuge, and TAWA frequently brings them to us when they are injured or orphaned.

To get our animals ready for release into TANAPA protected parks, where they will be able to thrive in their native environment, we rehabilitate and train them. In addition to protecting native species, our wildlife refuge serves as a site for reintroducing endangered species to areas of their natural range where their numbers have dropped drastically. With the hope of repopulating places that have been relocated.

The lions are the most recent addition to our animal release program. They were brought to us from other zoos because their mother rejected them when they were young. We have taught and restored these animals to health from their weakened state upon arrival. With the help of TAWA, these animals are gradually being returned to their native habitats.
