North Coast Beaches  Mauritius

The North Coast beaches of Mauritius are ideal for enthusiasts of watersports, especially waterskiing, windsurfing, and kitesurfing. Sailing and deep-sea fishing are exceptionally favourable at this location. The region boasts stunning sunsets and numerous bars and restaurants with ocean views at all times of the day. The North Coast comprises a total of 13 beaches. Our preferred locations are Grand Baie, Mont Choisy, Pereybere, and Trou aux Biches.

Grand Baie

Grand Baie, located next to the eponymous coastal resort, is known for its watersports, offering all previously listed activities along with catamaran tours. This indicates that the designated swimming area is limited in size relative to neighbouring beaches, and the water clarity is somewhat diminished. Grand Baie possesses a vibrant ambiance and several dining and drinking establishments, including both restaurants and stalls offering fresh juice.

Mont Choisy

Mont Choisy is situated roughly 4 kilometres to the southwest of Grand Baie. This beach features approximately 3 km of pristine white sands, arching around the coastline to provide a protected space for sunbathing. Casuarina trees provide ample shade, and the beach is quite tranquil on weekdays. The weekends are quite bustling. Waterskiing is offered here, while Mont Choisy is favoured by joggers. If you appreciate football, consider visiting the pitch adjacent to the shore, where local players are likely to welcome you.

Pereybere

Pereybere is located approximately 2 kilometres east of Grand Baie. This beach receives high praise from Kabira Safaris! The waves create a profound lagoon encircled by a coral reef. These are some of the most transparent waters of all the beaches in Mauritius, making them exceptionally suitable for snorkelling. Inland, the beach is abundant with booths offering a diverse selection of sandwiches, kebabs, and delectable fresh pineapple. Additionally, there are exquisite restaurants in proximity to the coastline, offering Mauritian, Chinese, and foreign food.

Trou Aux Biches

Trou aux Biches is located a few kilometres southwest of Grand Baie, adjacent to the village of Trou aux Biches. This beach, regarded as the best in Mauritius, is distinguished by the excellence of its sand and the diverse services nearby. The sand, extending about 2 kilometres, is exceptionally fine and pleasant underfoot. Trou aux Biches, akin to Pereybere, is a well regarded coral reef favoured by enthusiastic snorkelers. The town features shops and a supermarket, rather convenient for those visiting for a picnic. You may repose in the shade of casuarina trees, partake in a snack, and savour the essence of beach life.
