Kenya Rafting in Tana River/Kakamega Rain Forest
Rafting the River Tana, which offers grade 3–5 rapids depending on the season, is an ideal activity for daredevils who want to feel their heart race. You have the option to paddle a kayak or jump from a 40-foot waterfall into the untamed waters of the Sagana River. Over sixteen African nations participated in the historic 2008 Africa Olympic Canoe Qualifying/Kayaking Championship, which took place at Rapids Camp. The International Canoe Federation (ICF) requested that we hold the Rio 2016 qualifying events again in 2015, and we obliged.Being the only camp in Kenya with a large waterfall, Rapids Camp offers the greatest place for rafting and kayaking junkies to snap life shots.
Rafting Tana
Known as one of the world’s top half-day rafting sections, it is just 1.5 hours’ drive from Nairobi. You will undoubtedly be astounded by the Tana River. There are breathtaking rapids and enchanting flat water sections with old trees lining the riverbank. This section of white water is sure to get you soaked with its class 3 and 4 rapids, which contain both challenging and enjoyable obstacles. Make your way through challenging rapids including Sphincter Flexor, Captains Folly, and the Devil’s Toilet Bowl. Our shorter rafting adventure is perfect for those who aren’t up for the rapids and would like a more leisurely journey.
Make the most of your rafting experience by combining it with our world-famous barbecue meal and then hitting the climbing wall or zip line at our river camp.
Rafting Through Kakamega Rain Forest on the Yala River
The remnants of the “jungle” that formerly extended throughout East and West Africa are now contained in Kenya’s Kakamega forest. Take in the abundant wildlife, including monkeys and birds, while relaxing on a raft. Camping along the riverbanks and experiencing expedition life in this unspoiled region of Kenya are part of our three-day, two-night itineraries.
Fantastic rafting rapids and lovely, long, flat sections to take in the breathtaking forest are both found on this segment. Over the course of the three days, we will raft three separate parts. Including two nights of untamed camping in scenic locales.
