A Private 5-Day Okavango Delta Walking Safari Itinerary Guide
Joining the 5-Day Okavango Delta Walking Safari Experience gives you the chance to explore the best of the Okavango Delta in a small group on foot. Our qualified, local guides with a gift for conservation is there to tell you the secrets of nature and life in the bush. Immerse in the environment with our bushwalks in the wonderful Okavango Delta and feel the quietness while riding on a local Mokoro. You will spend the night in a dome tent in the middle of nature after sharing stories around the campfire with your guides and fellow travelers.
A Detailed 5-Day Okavango Delta Walking Safari
DAY 1
Our Safari begins at Maun, the Safari Capital of Botswana. Our guide meets us you in the morning at airport/hotel A short drive later on the main road we will travel through small communities, entering into a secluded community region of the Okavango Delta. Our staff will meet you and show you our mobile home over the following 3 nights. After a freshly made lunch and a little nap we will start our first activity (a brief bushwalk or a little bit of Mokororide. The dinner we get is after a fantastic chance to get to know each other and share some campfire stories before you will sleep your first night in the middle of this gorgeous nature.
DAY 2 – 4
You will visit this area on twice daily excursions over the next 3 full days. The activities will mostly consist of walking safaris and, water levels permitting, mokoro rides (traditional canoes). You can also reach additional walking places close by Mokoros. The morning hikes are generally longer (approximately 4-5 hours) as the temperature is lower. As the days are beginning to warm up, afternoon activities tend to be more laid back and are dependent on the group’s comfort level.
Our bushwalks will cover a wide range of themes such as tracks & tracking, botanical information, birdwatching, insects, ecology relating to the Okavango Delta and local traditional medicines, to provide you an entire safari experience and greater understanding of the complete environment.
This location has a high density of wildlife sightings and large animals are probable. Schedules are not fixed and the walks will be conducted keeping safety as priority.”
Day 5:
We will leave that beautiful place behind and return you to Maun where our shared wild experience comes to an end. Please advise how we may assist you with any post-accommodation or ongoing travel arrangements.
