A Detailed 10-Day South Africa Itinerary
Days 1–4: Cape Town
Your three-night stay at Clarendon Bantry Bay will begin after you reach Cape Town. Located on the slopes of the magnificent Lion’s Head, this charming hotel is a little gem in the peaceful suburb of Bantry Bay. Located on a road that connects Sea Point and Clifton, the Clarendon offers a tranquil retreat away from the hustle and bustle of Cape Town’s tourist areas. The property’s garden features a gorgeous pool and sundeck, and the sophisticated living and dining areas offer breathtaking views of the Atlantic Ocean. For a first-rate home base from which to explore Cape Town, stay at the Clarendon. It’s in close proximity to the busy city center, Table Mountain, the V&A Waterfront, and the beautiful beaches of Clifton and Camps Bay!
Days 4–6: Winelands
Babylonstoren, a boutique hotel and working wine farm, is a short hop from Cape Town in the Winelands, where you will spend two nights. Beautifully renovated Cape Dutch-style houses sit in more than 3.5 ha of gardens, including a prickly pear maze, on this property in the Drakenstein valley. Inviting fireplaces and broad whitewashed walls provide the common areas an atmosphere reminiscent of a farmhouse. Among the many excellent dining options is Babel, a restaurant located in a converted cow shed that uses produce grown on the grounds. You can also taste the farm’s own wine selection in Babylonstoren’s wine-tasting lounge. A variety of garden and vineyard-facing guest rooms are available, each with its own private pool and hot spa facilities (sauna, salt room, vitality pool, etc.). You can easily tour the Winelands from the hotel. Guests are invited to participate in the daily activities on the farm and tours are offered daily.
Days 6–10: Sabi Sand Game Reserve
Staying at Kirkman’s Kamp for four nights in the Sabi Sand Game Reserve is the concluding stop on this South Africa highlights tour. The property is a charming historic homestead that has been around since the 1920s. The dining room and living room are opulent, and they look out over the manicured lawns. The gardens have a breathtaking infinity pool that views out over Kirkman’s Reserve. Additionally, every suite boasts breathtaking views. They do a fantastic job of combining classic style with contemporary conveniences! All of the opulent en suite bathrooms have large claw-foot tubs, which we like. Safari photography, tracking, and early and late-day game drives are some of Kirkman’s favourite pastimes. Additionally, we offer private safaris! Since Kirkman’s is located on the banks of the Sand River and shares a boundary with the Kruger National Park, guests can expect to see plenty of wildlife when they relax on the grounds of the lodge.
