We did the gorilla habituation 4 hour experience in Bwindi Impenetrable forest of Uganda. This was part of a 24 day trip through Madagascar, Rwanda, Uganda, and Tanzania, to see as much diverse wildlife as we could for our honeymoon. This gorilla habituation was our highlight of the entire trip! Kabira safari was easy to work with. Our driver guide was professional and at the airport when we arrived. Our accommodations were great. But most of all, the gorilla habituation was one of the coolest experiences I’ve ever had! Really mind blowing to get so much time with such impressive and intelligent animals. The guides were amazing at helping us through the dense forest, getting us close to the gorillas, but also keeping us safe (these were not fully habituated gorillas). If you’re up for a little more intense experience than regular gorilla trekking, we highly recommend the gorilla habituation with Kabira. Also, hire a local porter and tip well. Even if you don’t need it, it makes a difference to help keep locals employed.

Booking with Kabira was the right move for our trip of a lifetime! Sharon was able to make the booking process seamless and was quick to answer any questions or concerns. Then, we had the privilege of exploring Rwanda with Pacifique as our guide. His professionalism, deep knowledge, and genuine care made the experience feel like being with family. He went above and beyond to ensure every detail was perfect, from sharing insights about Rwanda’s rich culture and history to creating a welcoming and comfortable environment throughout the journey, to pulling over so I could get the best photo opps! The views as we drove across the country were breathtaking, the food we ate was exceptional, and our accommodations made us feel like royalty. Then there was the exhilarating joy of seeing the chimpanzees, gorillas, and golden monkeys in the wild! No doubt we will cherish this trip for a lifetime! I cannot recommend Kabira and Pacifique enough for anyone looking for an exceptional and personal experience in Rwanda. Many thanks and gratitude 💖

We started planning our safari trip 10 months ago After researching routes and prices with different companies, we chose Kabira Safaris & Tours. Our trip included multiple national parks in Kenya as well as Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe. We worked with Jacqueline from Kabira Safaris and Tours. Jacqueline was extremely helpful with our planning including flights, hotels, and transfers. We were able to see all the wildlife during the great migration. This includes lions, leopards, cheetahs, rhinos, elephants, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, baboons and more. This was absolutely a once in a lifetime trip. The Victoria Falls were breathtaking and a must-visit place. Everything worked as expected, and Jacqueline was always available to accommodate our needs and requests during the trip. Isaac, our driver and guide during this trip, was professional, knowledgeable and did everything and beyond to make sure that we saw and experienced everything on this amazing trip. Vastly exceeded our high expectations!
From the first minute of our five day Kabira Rwanda Primate Tracking Safari, everything was perfect. As with most travelers, we came to “see the gorillas”. That dream came true in a spectacular way but we also got so so much more. We were picked up at the airport by our guide, Pacifique, who became like a member of our family in our days together. His professionalism, knowledge of the various trekking outings, sense of humour and willingness to do everything in his power to make our trip memorably amazing, was something we will appreciate forever. The hotels we stayed in were high-quality, with great food, fabulous service, and very comfortable beds. Very clean, beautiful grounds, and a hot water bottle tucked into the sheets each evening! The Safari vehicle we drove in had Wi-Fi and charging stations by each seat – both completely unexpected and very welcome! It was amazing to be able to share photos with family back in Canada mere minutes after having the amazing experiences with the chimpanzees, the golden monkeys and most dramatically, our mountain gorilla cousins. It was very special to see each of the primate groups, but it was life-altering to spend time in close proximity with the mountain gorilla families. A wondrous privilege. Pacifique made sure that we were very well prepared for each of our outings. His knowledge of the flora and fauna was so helpful to us. We learned so much from our long discussions on the road about Rwandan history, geography, current events. To anyone who is considering booking with Kabira, my message to you is that you will be in very good hands. Especially if you are fortunate enough to have Pacifique as your guide.

Our gorilla trekking experience in Rwanda proved to be the pinnacle of our trip, even after an incredible week in the Maasai Mara. Jacqueline deserves special recognition for making the booking process seamless and expertly guiding us through the permit acquisition process. From the moment we landed in Kigali, we were in excellent hands. Julie welcomed us at the airport, where we met our exceptional guide, Samuel. Though the drive to Five Volcanoes was lengthy (about 3 hours), Samuel’s engaging company made the journey fly by. His warm personality transformed what could have been a routine transfer into a delightful start to our adventure, and we felt like we were traveling with a friend rather than a guide. Samuel’s professionalism shone throughout our stay. His punctuality was impeccable, and he thoughtfully considered our hiking capabilities when coordinating with the trekking guides and trackers. The gorilla encounter itself exceeded all expectations and justified every penny invested. When we expressed interest in exploring the local area, Samuel enthusiastically accommodated our request, treating us to an impromptu visit to the nearby town and Lake Ruhondu. As our three-day visit drew to a close, we found ourselves reluctant to leave. Samuel’s maturity, deep knowledge, and vast experience make him an invaluable asset to Kabira Safaris and Tours, and we couldn’t have asked for a better guide. Thank you, Samuel!

Top notch guides who made all the difference
Our guide in Tanzania was Linus, and he was the absolute best person we could have hoped for. We went through Kabira Safaris, and feel so lucky they connected us with him. His cheerful spirit, deep knowledge of wildlife and of the country was amazing, and he helped us so much to make our travels a great adventure. Linus is a true champion on the road, and a great human being overall. We became friends with him and feel like he made us experience Tanzania in a much more personal and special way. He is very smart, funny and super professional, and we feel blessed to have had him as our guide, especially because this part of the safari was a long one and we know it was also hard work and long hours for him. We sincerely appreciate how kind and caring he was, all the while driving us halfway through the country and back. Thank you Linus for your everyday smiles, for teaching us Swahili, and for sharing so much about your country with us. Asante sana!! 🙏🏼 We only had two days in Kenya with our guide Justice, but he made a wonderful impression. Justice is a very kind and experienced guide who always did his best to help us when we needed and drove us through the northern Serengeti to find the animals we hadn’t yet seen. His long career truly shows in the way he can spot wildlife so effortlessly. He is gentle, thoughtful, and professional, and we are grateful for the time we spent with him.
