Wilderness Bisate Lodge A Luxury Rwanda Safari Camp
Wilderness Bisate Lodge was the inaugural lodge in Rwanda to combine premier luxury travel with unique, once-in-a-lifetime gorilla trekking experiences. Bisate collaborated with the local community in the reforestation of an iconic site adjacent to Volcanos National Park. Since its inception, two indigenous tree nurseries have been established, and more than 2,000 trees have been planted. The site offers stunning vistas of the Bisoke and Karisimbi volcanoes towering above the park’s Afro-alpine forests, and the lodge’s architecture embodies the cultural heritage of rural Rwanda.
Wilderness Bisate Lodge maintains a longstanding dedication to sustainable eco-tourism and the preservation of Rwanda’s remarkable natural heritage. The Volcanoes National Park is situated along the western branch of the East African Rift — one of the continent’s most significant biodiversity hotspots, hosting over 60 bird and mammal species that are endemic to this region. The most renowned and esteemed of these is the mountain gorilla, and you will have the chance to observe one of ten habituated family groups within the park.
Other notable attractions in the region encompass Iby’wacu Cultural Village, the breathtaking twin lakes of Buhondo and Burera, the lava tunnels within the Musanze Caves, remarkable birdwatching opportunities, and the tracking of specialised endemic species such as the golden monkey.

Forest Villa:
The lodge will accommodate only twelve visitors across six spacious suites, each offering stunning views of the forest and the distant peaks of Volcanoes National Park. Full en suite bathrooms are thoughtfully appointed with a walk-in shower, dual sinks, a spacious Jacuzzi, and an array of luxurious amenities.
General Facilities:
While Bisate’s exteriors are reminiscent of traditional huts, the interiors are opulent and provide a haven of comfort and luxury. There are six huge suites at the lodge, as well as a sitting room with fireplaces and a wine cellar that guests can enjoy. You can take part in the forestry initiative while strolling through the 26-hectare reserve. Every day, gorilla treks leave from the national park headquarters, which is conveniently located within easy driving distance.
