Birdwatchers will find heaven in Mabamba Swamp. Even while the vibrant African jacana and papyrus gonolek catch our eye, it is the fearsome shoebill that we seek out.
We go all over the forest and wetlands in quest of monkeys. The photographic opportunities are unparalleled as we seek to capture a variety of intimate pictures and photographs, and the experience with gorillas and chimpanzees can be profoundly moving.
We look for the infamous tree-climbing lions in the Ishasha woodlands and savannah. Photographers will have a field day with this odd sight.
Two hikes are available for the gorillas and chimpanzees, which is a major highlight of this safari. Our time spent viewing and photographing these intriguing primates is better balanced now that we’ve doubled our time with them. Arrive Entebbe & transfer to hotel
We will be transferred to our hotel upon arrival in Entebbe and given the afternoon to relax.

Morning photography session at Mabamba Swamp
Birding Uganda – Shoebill in Mabamba Swamp
We will be leaving for Lake Victoria early in the morning to find the strange shoebill in Mabamba Swamp. We intend to increase our chances of getting a variety of shots of these peculiar birds by making use of knowledgeable local advisors. Many other kinds of birds also make this region their home, so there’s a good chance you might see some of them.
We then transfer to Kibale Forest National Park.

To find our closest living relative, the chimpanzee, we set out into the jungle first thing every morning. For several hours, we can explore the forest in search of a family group. Even though we only get an hour with each group of chimps when we locate them, that’s plenty of time to get some great close-up shots of these stunning creatures in their natural habitat. Staying with the group the whole time, Bret will be available to offer photographic tips and assist you in making the most of your time in the forest.
At the lodge, we’ll unwind and go over photos with Bret in the afternoons. The Bigodi Wetland is home to a variety of birds and primates, so we plan to take a guided nature walk there one day.
Transfer by road to Ishasha
It all depends on the road conditions and how long the journey takes, but we should be able to go on our first game drive this afternoon after our transfer to Ishasha.

The Rare Tree Climbing Lions of Ishasha National Park – Uganda
As we devote two entire days to tracking down and shooting the tree-climbing lions, we will have ample time to appreciate this remote region of Uganda. The region has recently established itself as a reliable spot to spot leopards, and with any luck, we could even get to see one of these stunning cats. Landscape photographers will love this location for its vast savannahs and scattered trees. To guarantee the highest quality photography platform, we will be employing open-top land cruisers. We will make the most of our time out on the field during each of our two game drives every day. This means that on our safaris, we might bring our own packaged meals.

During our two-day stay in Bwindi, we get the opportunity to go on forest excursions with gorillas. Being just a few hundred meters away from the gorilla trek registration area, staying at Buhoma is convenient. First thing in the morning, we’ll have breakfast and then head to the designated meeting spot. Here we will be assigned our rangers, gorilla treks, and, depending on where we start, we may have to drive around the mountain for up to an hour.
You can take your time and enjoy the incredible benefits, but the walk to discover the gorillas might be challenging.
